Man, this is hard work.

Last night, LJ ate my post so I simply deleted it rather than try to fix it again, since the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth anyway. I prefer to have less negativity in my LJ anyway, and my angry!Rain gif and general angry mini rant about Super Junior’s current situation wasn’t really worth the read so… yeah. I got rid of it.

In more enjoyable news, I have taken on the mammoth task of making my own animated mood theme, just like the Big Bang one I’m using at the moment, but of Kangta (doesn’t that just show how my bias has changed?). They will be 100x50px, simply animated moods, just like the Big Bang one I’m using. I’m still a little rusty at this, but I made 10 last night and it’s looking good (even if there’s about a million more to do)! The only downside of the program I’m using is that when I shrink the gifs to those dimensions, it seems to put a black stripe down the right hand border :/ but ehh. It’s barely noticeable.

I’m excited at the thought of using a mood theme that I made myself X3 Hell, I’m excited just at the fact I get to finally use H.O.T gifs which as far as I know DON’T EXIST.

Edea shoot went most awesomely, even if I couldn't move my head due to the helmet being bigger than Xbox.

Medic, of course, is CREDIT TO TEAM.

And while I do think I need to get back on the fitness wagon, everyone did such a wonderful job of making all of us look and feel beautiful ;o; I could get used to this sort of thing!

- Christmas cooking went well last night. Brendon and I made a heap of gifts (and hardly any mess! :D), all I need to do is roll up the truffles when I get home from work tonight. Feeling much less stressed about xmas now.

- Pavel's jointed hands arrived on Saturday. Took me two hours to blush and put together just one. And cause Soom didn't send S hooks to go with them, he shall only have one hand for the moment until I can get another S hook that fits (why I had this mystery one in the first place I do not know). They weren't hard to string afterall, just a bit fiddly. Also the matter of keeping all the parts in order so that you don't mix everything up.

- Souldoll outfit should arrive today. Alice's head might arrive, tracking for it hasn't updated since it left China on Thursday, so I'll be anxious till I see it's been scanned in at customs.

- I like writing everything in bullet points. :D

- Ari's hanging out with me today. I took his hooves off over a month ago to repaint, and it took me that long to get the blushing off them. Seems some bits will chip and flake off with ease, but the second you want to actually get the pastel off it sticks like a motherfucker. This time after blushing I coated the whole area in a matte waterbased varnish (previously I'd only just done the hoof part, not the fur), and sueded the inside of the joint. It has an ever so slight sheen to them, but he was handled heaps at the meet and nothing seems to have chipped. Sueding the inside alone makes a huge difference (with suede/pliver of course, not hot glue). Why Soom thought putting locking grooves inside the hooves was a great idea is beyond me.

- New couch arriving this morning! For those that don't know, our old couch was very dead - the back of it was coming off it at an extreme angle. When we took it out to the garage last night, we found that the only thing holding the back on was the fabric, the wood had broken away from the frame completely XDDD And I found some things under the couch I thought I'd never find, like Charlie's Bearibbean Pirate! :D
It's gonna be weird coming home to a nice new couch this afternoon.

Yeah, I'm easily swayed. But I don't CARE-EH-EH-EH-EH-EH. The one night I went out to Bass Lounge the other week was so epic, and they didn't even play a great deal of Asian music. This is going to be awesoooome. (It also helps it's half the cost of the other event...)

This is relevant only because that's where I've been posting updates over the last... oh... two months. It's what's been sapping my energy to LJ instead XD;; If you are already following me on Twitter, then think of this entry as a retrospective :P

I've been angsting over cosplay since Madman Manifest, no surprises there. I really feel like since then, cosplay has just been... so incredibly epic for me. Even when I first started, I have never felt as much joy, exhilaration and admiration for all of my cosplay peeps - old and new. One of my oldest cosplay friends, oceanid has been inspiring me so much to push harder, better, faster (shorter deadlines aren't the same thing!) and stronger.

@eflopez and neilcreek are also pushing me to become a better cosplayer. About four weeks ago, (around the depths of my cosplay-related depression) Elias and Neil invited Val, annie_chan, clamwings and myself to a studio shoot. The original intention was to shoot "old" costumes, which was great, because no one took pics of my Gwendolyn (actually, did any of the "official" Amaranth photos ever get put up online?), and I wanted more of Medic. Still, us being us, I think we all wound up trying to make new costumes just for the shoot. Urrrrgh.

Some days earlier, oceanid inspired me to try doing a full-face makeup trial, but I didn't want to do an abstract/animal-type one. So what did I choose to do? FF8 Sorceress Edea, of course. I mean, it's just makeup, right? Well, it wouldn't really be Edea if I didn't do the headdress, and I already bought a kid's Halloween helmet to practice for Onion Knight. And then this invite came through, and, well, Edea just wears this slinky black dress, right? And... oh, I need more practise with foamcore anyway, so I might as well make the fan.

Did I forget to mention that the shoot was in less than four weeks?

Doll meet was good, despite my coke exploding on Jess and myself (I'm so sorry Jess! T_______T). Met some lovely people I haven't met before, some I've talked to on DA and finally put a face to the name, and of course those I know already. :) Made me feel good about going to meets again, I'd kinda psyched myself out of them for a year and a half.

But now I am soo tired and my feet hurt. So much walking this afternoon (which is good for me, but still x.x), and I only got 3 hours sleep. I might fall asleep soon. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I realised I need to write down a list of what I'm waiting on, cause I keep forgetting. XD

So although I worked on things the past two days, I did them whilst sitting on the couch all day watching dvds, and as a result I actually feel rather refreshed coming in to work today. Clearly I need to spend more of my days off not stressing out and working on a million things.

Charlie, Lucy and Ari are hanging out with me at work today. I swear I love tinies, they're handfuls of happiness. X3

Blogging can sometimes be a rather lonely path. You are sitting in front of your computer, typing out your thoughts and pouring out your soul, and you are never guranteed readers. At least I know I'm not as my blogs are still relatively new.

But Nuffnang put a stop to that. Together with fellow bloggers, they have been building (and still building!) a supportive community for bloggers and holding events to bring bloggers together. And with christmas round the corner, what better excuse than a christmas party?

To be honest I was reluctant to go. My partner in crime was stuck in work meetings all night long and I dreaded having to go alone to an event where I knew nobody. Forget that there'd be other people in the same boat, forget that I really should be making new friends. The fact remained that I was too shy. Too fresh in my mind, the days when I was snubbed at parties, too fresh in my mind, the days of me feeling absolutely lost and left out. So to be honest, I didn't want to go.

But with the encouragement of Celina and the desire to meet other bloggers, especially the ones whom I've been reading for ever so long! I decided I'd go. And looking back, I am so thankful that Celina pushed me to go. I'd have missed out the wonderful night otherwise. I'd tell you who all the bloggers were but unfortunately my short term memory is kinda that. Short.
I will try to ferret out who's who over the next few days, but for now let me end this social report with a:

When I wandered in, feeling terribly out of place, contemplating making a dash back to my car which was round the corner: Candice was the first person to welcome me in with a warm smile. It calmed my nerves and made me feel a thousand times better. So thank you Candice. And thank you to Nuffnang for being such a wonderful host. It was a really enjoyable night!

p/s: to those on my craft blog, we will resume normal crafting very soon!

Oh. Oh my poor feet.

I'm back from the freaking amazing Christmas party that Nuffnang (AU Branch) hosted for all bloggers.
And boy was it a blast.

Above, are the two memoirs from the night. Already it feels so distant, as thought it were merely a dream. But the little sticker that sports Violet's adorable art, and my terrible handwriting is proof that I did it. I conquered my fears and I went to the party. Alone. Oh and the heels are there because... well because my feet hurt so much right now from standing all night in them but I will suffer, I must suffer for they are such gorgeous heels.

Even while driving to the city, I was constantly thinking to myself: "oh dear oh dear, maybe I shouldn't go."
You see, I do have quite the problem when it comes to meeting new people. People I don't know.

But boy was I glad I went. I'd tell you more but I'm awfully tired and awfully sleepy but so awfully happy too. So rest assured that I will tell you more. Just let me get some winks in first. See, Joyce? I do sleep.

Omg I am going to have so much fun with this I don't think you have any idea.

With a lot of k-pop groups I'm not into them for the music. There are some I'm only into for the music. There are some I love both the music and the members themselves (2PM is a good example).

But with U-Kiss... I'm really just in it for the gay.
Boys. Let's be honest. Between playing at vampires in a closet and doing extremely suggestive photoshoots, I don't think it's going to fly with anyone that you guys are straight. Kevin, you girly man you, you have both Kibum and Alexander wanting in your pants, stop being a tease.


I'm allowed to be super shallow about at least one group if I want XD. Plus I'm just updating my LJ randomly because I'm at work, no one's talking to me and I'm bored.

- I am not going to get this dress done in time for Friday. I beaded all afternoon and night and got three and a half petals done (I'm up to the big ones, they're varied sizes), and I still have about 5-10 left (need to start piecing it together and see how many more I need). Ah well, I'll still finish it, I just wanted something pretty and new for Tatiana to wear.

- Today I have to do a lot of xmas cooking. Need to go and buy turkish delight and some other ingredients for things, and get cooking!


-Liulfir's body is going to have to wait a bit. DD-Anne has released the last ever edition of Lotus Nears. I thought I had no chance in getting one (just like every other time she puts them up for sale) because she usually only sells 4 in each edition. But this time she is taking a pre-order. And she's also accepting layaway, so I can't say no. She's also rereleased the zombie versions, but there's only four of them, so I won't have the money ready in time. This version really suits what I want it for better anyway, I just like the look of the grey skin.
This doll has been on my wish list for ages, and it wasn't until I got Kostya that I had a reason to get one. He's going to be a little deity that Kostya meets on the astral plane whilst meditating. Only he can see him, and they chill out together. :) So yes, saving up for the deposit over the next couple of weeks. X3

- Feeling oddly lucky at the moment. Each time I think I've lost out on something I go back to check and find that I have a chance of getting it. Besides the Lotus Near thing, yesterday I did my daily check of Souldoll, as they had said a few weeks ago that they were going to sell one of the outfits their dolls was wearing separately. I'd had the money sitting there in my account waiting for the chance to get it, and then I forgot to check the night before yesterday, when it seems they'd released it. By the time I'd checked, they were sold out T_T But, something made me go back and check again (hope? a need to angst over what I couldn't get?), and they were back in stock! :D I bought one, and they went sold out again. Seems I got a canceled order! :DDD

Now if Brendon could get this job, I'd be extra happy. It's about time everything came up Milhouse.
